A ~400-year-old house in a preservation district
国選定「重要伝統的建造物群保存地区」五條新町のなか、記録上もっとも古い部類の一軒。太い梁、低めの鴨居、土間。当時の骨格を残しながら、水まわりと寝具は現代のまま使えるように手を入れました。
Within Gojo-Shinmachi — a nationally-designated preservation district — Shohaku is among the oldest houses still standing. Heavy beams, low lintels, an earthen entry. The frame was kept as it was; plumbing and bedding were quietly modernized.
母屋1LDK＋離れ、最大4名の一棟貸し
Main 1LDK + detached wing, whole-house for up to four
母屋メイン8畳にシングルベッド2台。離れの4.5畳に布団2組。広さ約120㎡。家族4人、友人4人、二家族の親子といった組み合わせで静かに過ごせる造りです。
The main room (8 tatami) holds two single beds. The detached 4.5-mat wing holds two futons. About 120 m². Comfortable for a family of four, or two couples who want separate rooms on the same roof.

Walk out into everyday Gojo
扉を開けると、通学する子、買い物に行くおばあさん、犬の散歩をする人。観光地的でない暮らしの町並みです。近隣には地酒の蔵、柿の葉寿司の店、吉野川の河原。少し足を伸ばせば高野山・吉野山へ車で1時間圏内。
Step outside and you see schoolchildren, an older neighbor with her shopping bag, a dog out for its walk. This is an old town that still works as a town. Sake breweries, kakinoha-zushi shops, and the Yoshino riverbank are within walking distance; Koyasan and Yoshino are an hour by car.
